Biomorphic Explorations in Graphite and Watercolor (Virtual)-Rula Jones

02/05/2021 10:00 AM - 03/26/2021 12:00 PM ET

Description

Biomorphic forms or images are ones that while abstract nevertheless refer to, or evoke, living forms such as plants and the human body. The term came into use around the 1930s to describe the imagery in the more abstract types of surrealist painting and sculpture. Students will explore shapes, texture and color in a variety of living objects and visually expand upon their observations. Traditional techniques in watercolor and graphite will also be taught.
