Art + Crafts: Art Making and Craft Beer | April

04/22/2016 07:30 PM - 09:30 PM ET

Description

Drawing and Drinking German-Style

Open to all levels of art creators and beer enthusiasts. Exercise your cheers-worthy drawing skills with a dynamic Germany-themed Art + Crafts workshop! With a live clothed model and German-themed props, we will learn the secrets to capturing poses and features when drawing people. We will warm up with short gestural drawings, and progress to longer poses, incorporating fun prompts and imaginative additions into the scene! Crafters are invited to bring a sketchbook and any materials they wish to use during the workshop, but not required to. MPA will provide drawing boards, easels, sketch paper, pencil, charcoal, and pastels.

Why Germany? The day after is the 500th anniversary of the German Beer Purity Law, regulating the ingredients in German beer. With a selection of different German-style beers, we will learn a little about the history of beer related art while we imbibe and draw. Workshop includes 4 flights from a Germany-themed curated selection of craft beer.

 $25 /ticket

Includes model fee

Past Art + Crafts workshops have included a drawing lab exploring nature's patterns, an op art night with beer bottle designs, and a dynamic abstract mark making collab.
